Roots Review 19

Wow! American Roots Live 19 opened Zupko's Tavern Theater with a big bang!

We were fortunate enough to have the one and only, 300 pounds of heavenly joy - all the way from Phoenix, Arizona - American Roots Ambassador in the southwest, Mr. HoneyBoy Dupree in the house. He arrived just in time to help kick-off our debut at Zupko's and to be a part of the live TV shoot we did on Saturday August 12. More on that in a moment... Dupree will also appear again Tuesday the 15th at American Roots 20 - so if you missed 19, make sure you are there for 20.

American Roots Ambassador to New Jersey, John Powers continues to work his tail off for the cause and without him we wouldn't be able to break the speed limit as we soar into our future (more on that very soon) Thank you John Powers.

American Roots Live 19 featured another star studded bill featuring:John Powers & the Arturos, Honey Boy Dupree, Michael Krizan, Robert, Ed Pampani, Bernie Brauswetter, Arlene Schar, Bob Barnard, Johnny Thompson, Lori V, Jeff Page, Tommy Bell, JR Bradfield and others I'm embarrassed to say I cannot recall as I have been traveling at the speed of sound myself trying to keep up with all that has gone on and all that is about to happen - volunteers - help! Please!

American Roots 19 also had a new look as we had new back drop curtains made by seamstress Sue and an awesome new American Roots neon sign courtesy of new Roots TV sponsor, LouMarc Signs in Somerville. Thank you Larry Gliozzi.

Saturday the 12th was history in the making as we began the "live" production portion of American Roots TV with another star studded cast of invitees performing before the cameras. Our sincere thanks to all those acts and musicians for their incredible performances: HoneyBoy Dupree, Johnny Thompson, John Powers, Plainfield Slim & the Groundhawgs, Johnny Charles, Kelly Caruso, The DoughBoys, Bernie Brauswetter, the Noo Dogs, Michael Krizan and Tommy Fuller.

I must recognize the incredibly professional effort and hard work of Peter Naman and his crew from PCTV, our sponsors and their crews for the awesome audio mix and equipment; Bob Malavenda of Manville Music and Tim Manning of SDC Studios, drum tech, Craig Buckman and our generous anchor sponsor, Elliott Newcomb Designs - most of you know Elliott Newcomb as Win.

Thanks to our volunteers, Mary Anne, Amelia Lange, Ed Pampani, JR Bradfield, Sue the Seamstress and our American Roots Ambassador to the Carribean, Duane Chez. Also to our dedicated supporters Richard Skelly, Elmore Magazine and the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation namely Suzanne Cadgene, Fred Reilly and Tom Cucchiara respectively. Also thank you to those who have stepped forward to offer support where ever needed Tommy Wilson , Dave Malavenda, Casey from Northside Lounge in Manville for the good vibes and so many others.

Please keep your eyes on this page as a major American Roots Live announcement is forthcoming. See you this Tuesday at Zupko's Tavern Theater, 450 North Ave in Dunellen starting at 8PM.

Keeping it real,

Ned
